A note from the Secretary………..
July has been a special month for GSFC in terms of gaining recognition for all our hard
work in the community. On Friday 9th July Sport Guildford hosted their end of season
award ceremony at Christ’s College, Guildford. GSFC were nominated in no less than
4 categories. I am delighted to report the Club picked up 2 awards: Sport Guildford’s
Junior Team Award went to our U12 boys for their fantastic achievement of winning
both the SYL league and the County Cup, the 1st team in the history of the Club to
achieve this. Comzign Computers Ltd – Sports Achievement Award – went to our
Disability Team Management for introducing the 1st disabled team in Guildford and the
marvellous work being carried out with this team.
July 21st I attend the Surrey FA end of season presentation at Leatherhead FC to collect
for the 3rd time The FA Charter Standard Development Club of the Year Award I
accepted this award on behalf of every volunteer within the Club in recognition of the
hard work and dedication all our volunteers put in over the football season and beyond. I
was delighted to accept this award from football legend Ray Wilkins.
Well done everyone. Looking forward to seeing everyone back in September ready for
another exciting season.

We have 2 posts to fill on our Committee for season 2010/11:-

Minutes Secretary:  to attend Committee meetings once every 6 weeks, take notes and distribute to Committee members via e-mail.

Junior Fixture Secretary: to be point of contact for Boxgrove Sch, Tillingbourne Sch and St. Thomas’s school booking match day pitches for our junior teams.  All contact via e-mail.  Liasing with Team Managers.

Registrations for next season are now taking place.  Registration forms and membership letter can be found on the Club Info page.   Forms and fees are required by 31st July, registration after this time will incurr a league registration fee.  We hope you are all looking forward to the new season.
