Under 10 Boys
Guildford Saints Blues U10
Strong start with a convincing win over Staines Colts. The team has a number of changes since last year but is starting to gel. We’ve seen some brave goal keeping from Isaak Johnson, and some sharp shooting starting to show through, Jo Downie hammering a shot home against Burpham Falcons and earlier in the season, we saw the Ollie Watts long shot to full effect.
Midfield have been learning to act as guard dogs with good effect. Roscoe Cook, Alex Johnson and Conrad Turnock chasing down the ball well in midfield and providing good service to Adam Lowry who continues to give 100%.
A number of the team attended a training day at Chelsea in October and we’ve seen some of the new Chelsea skills on display (including stepovers!). Now just need to work on converting these into goals & points.
Guildford Saints Clarets U10
The newly named “Clarets”, under a new manager in a lower division, with a new team have played 5 league games, won 3 and lost 2, and 1 Cup game.
Our first game, we won 5:3 but were brought down to earth with a 3:1 defeat a week later. In our 3rd game against the runaway league leaders the team showed great spirit to come back from 3:1 down at half time to be drawing 3:3 into the 2nd minute of added time, but sadly conceded a goal with the last kick of the game to lose 4:3. The team bounced back a week later with a 2 nil away win at Staines with 2 free kick goals, one from the half way line ! A week off due to International commitments was followed up by a fine display of passing football with a 6:0 win in the Preliminary round of the cup / plate which means the Clarets name in the hat for the 1st Round ! A 3:1 away win at Farncombe a week later consolidates our position in the top half of the table
Come on you Clarets.
